My Priorities for Denham Springs
Strengthening infrastructure and planning for smart growth
We already have many pieces of a long-term vision identified through Denham Strong, the Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan, zoning maps and regulations, and other planning efforts. We need to bring these ideas together by forming a Master Plan Committee to organize them into one comprehensive master plan and create a path for long-term implementation.
Supporting public safety and first responders
We have a responsibility to support our first responders by making sure they have the staffing, resources, and training needed to protect our community. We also need to create an environment that attracts and keeps dedicated public servants while strengthening trust and relationships with the community.
Cleaning up and beautifying our city to strengthen community pride
We bring back community events like the Denham Springs Trash Bash and encourage partnerships where citizens and local businesses can adopt intersections and other public spaces for cleanup and beautification. Together, we can bring back the pride that once helped us earn Cleanest City recognition.
Creating a business-friendly environment that encourages local investment
Starting a business comes with significant personal and financial risk, and for many people, it’s their first time doing it. Local government has a responsibility to create a more predictable environment where ordinances, permitting, and building requirements are reasonable, easy to understand, and easier to navigate. We must give them the tools they need so succeed while being compliant with regulations and ordinances.
Preserving the small-town character that makes Denham Springs special
For a growing city, we are fortunate to have places like the Main Street / Antique Village and surrounding areas where life feels a little slower. With the acquisition of repetitive flood loss properties near River Road, we have a unique opportunity to use that land to improve quality of life through recreation and community spaces while highlighting the beauty of our city.
Leading with transparency, accountability, and integrity
Residents deserve leadership that listens, communicates openly, and follows through. I am committed to making decisions that are transparent, accountable, and always focused on serving the people of Denham Springs.
